Build the right product, at the speed of AI.

Inexcel helps companies turn ideas into working prototypes in weeks, and prototypes into products. We bring the product mindset that decides what is worth building, and the AI-assisted development that builds it fast: coding agents in your team, AI agents in your workflows, and agents built into the product itself. And when an idea needs to be held, we 3D-print it.

Three layers of a product: a product mindset at the base, AI agents in the middle, and the product people use on topProductsPrototypes that grow upAI agentsIn your team and productProduct mindsetWhy, who and what first

What we do

Four ways we help you build

Some of it we do for our own products, most of it together with you. The method is the same: start from what customers need, put something real in their hands early, and let AI do the heavy lifting.

Digital prototypes

See your idea work before you bet on it. We build working prototypes, real code on real data rather than slides, so you can put them in front of users and investors within weeks and decide on evidence.

  • Clickable flows and working apps, web and mobile
  • In front of real users early
  • Built to grow into the product, not thrown away

Product development and product mindset

Most products fail on what they build, not on how well they build it. We help teams start from the customer's problem, shape the features that matter and measure what happens, the way we run our own products.

  • Discovery, customer interviews and feature shaping
  • Roadmaps tied to outcomes, not output
  • Coaching for product teams and their leaders

AI-assisted development

Coding agents change how software gets built, and they are only as good as the context they get. We help your developers work with them well: specifications agents can follow, skills and guardrails for your codebase, and reviews that keep quality up as the pace goes up.

  • Claude Code, Cursor and MCP set up for your codebase
  • Spec-driven development and agent skills
  • Testing and review that keep up with the agents

AI agents in your workflows and products

Much of the work in an organisation is the same steps, again and again. We find it and hand it to AI agents, and we build agents into your product so your users get the same leverage.

  • Workflows automated with AI agents
  • Agents and assistants built into your product
  • Grounded in your data, with people in control

When the idea needs to be held

Some ideas are easier to judge in your hand than on a screen. We have our own 3D printer and print parts, enclosures and models on demand, in a range of materials, and connect them to software when the prototype needs to do something.

  • 3D printing on demand

Parts, enclosures, fixtures and models, printed in-house in the material that suits them, and reprinted quickly when the design changes.

  • Electronics when needed

Sensors, microcontrollers and displays for a prototype that has to sense, move or show something.

  • Connected to software

An app or a dashboard that talks to the device, so the prototype works as a whole.

How we work

From idea to product, in small steps

  1. 01

    Understand

We start with the problem and the people who have it, not the solution. A short workshop is often enough to know what to build first.

  2. 02

    Prototype

A clickable flow, a working app built in days with AI, or a 3D print on the table. Something to show users and investors while it is still cheap to change.

  3. 03

    Build

We turn what works into a product built to last: specified, tested and secure, with coding agents doing the heavy lifting and people owning the decisions.

  4. 04

    Launch and learn

We ship, measure what happens and improve. Or hand it over to your team, documented, together with the agent setup that built it.

Our products

We build products, not just projects

Building and running our own products is how we learn what it takes, and it is where our advice comes from. Here is what we are building now, and what came before.

Building now

Mystory

Every adventure, told by everyone who was there.

Trips, weddings, birthdays and reunions: the best photos and stories are spread across everyone's phones. Mystory brings them together in one shared story. Photos, videos, voice notes, routes and words from the whole group, on one map and day by day. Play it as a slideshow, share it with the people at home, or turn it into a photo book.

A Mystory story of a walk along the Camino, with its cover photo, a map of the route and the days listed below
  • Written together

Everyone on the trip adds their own photos, notes and recordings to the same story.

  • Guests without an app

At a wedding or a party, guests scan a card on the table and add their photos.

  • Route, places and weather

Each day gets its map, places and weather, without typing a word.

  • Your voice becomes text

Talk instead of typing, and let AI tidy the text or sum up the day.

  • From story to photo book

Every story is laid out as a book you can read on screen or print.

  • Private, and stored in the EU

Nothing is shared until you choose to share it.

ProductMind

Product development for the agentic AI era.

When coding agents write much of the code, the hard part is knowing what to build, and keeping people and agents pointed the same way. ProductMind captures what customers need, turns it into living feature specifications, and hands the work to coding agents with the right context. Every shipped change traces back to the customer who asked for it.

  • Customer interviews and feedback, run by AI agents
  • Living specifications that teams and agents write together
  • Coding sessions in the cloud, or your own agent over MCP

XaTester

Unit testing for mainframe developers.

Banks, insurers and governments still run on COBOL and PL/I programs on the mainframe, and changing them safely is hard. XaTester gave mainframe developers what other developers take for granted: automated unit and functional tests for their programs, built and run from a modern Eclipse IDE, without writing test code.

  • Tests for COBOL, PL/I, Assembler and RPG, in batch and CICS
  • Stubbed subprograms, so each program is tested on its own
  • Runs from build pipelines and through a REST API
  • Resold by IBM, then acquired by Compuware in 2018

XaTester was built together with the Danish IBM business partner Xact Consulting. In 2018 Compuware acquired it and merged it into Topaz for Total Test. It lives on today in BMC AMI DevX Total Test.

The founder

Steen Brahe

Founder of Inexcel AB · Co-founder of ProductMind

“AI has made building cheap. Knowing what is worth building is now the hard part, and the part I enjoy most.”

Steen has spent his career building software products, many of them tools for other developers. He built XaTester, which brought automated unit testing to mainframe developers, together with the Danish IBM business partner Xact Consulting. IBM resold it, and in 2018 Compuware acquired it.

He joined Compuware as senior product manager for the combined product, Topaz for Total Test, which lives on at BMC. He has taken a product from idea to acquisition, and knows the work it takes at every step.

He co-founded ProductMind, a platform where customer feedback, specifications and coding agents share one context. Building it means living what Inexcel advises: product thinking first, and AI agents doing more of the building every month.

Today he runs Inexcel from the Malmö area, builds Mystory, and helps companies build their products faster with AI.
